Dame Tartine bridges the gap between cafe, sandwich bar and restaurant. We serve light snacks and meals with a distinct French flavour, to be enjoyed promptly in the British manner, or at an altogether more Mediterranean pace with a glass of wine and a few friends.

We are very excited about opening our first Dame Tartine here in Tunbridge Wells and will be ready to greet you soon.

WHAT IS A TARTINE?

A traditional French open sandwich. Served with both hot and cold toppings it makes a perfect lunch or snack and can be ordered as an individual serving or for sharing.

Made using a Poilâne style bread; a famous French sourdough that is baked daily to our traditional recipe by a local artisan baker. Our bread is lightly toasted, brushed with olive oil and served with the best quality seasonal ingredients and freshly prepared green and your choice of potato dishes.

We will also serve a selection of soups, starters and light snacks as well as some classic French main meals and daily special dishes to compliment the season.

WHO IS DAME TARTINE?

Dame Tartine has a place in the heart of all French families. Like Little Miss Muffet or Little Bo Peep she is with us from our earliest years, a fantastical figment made of delicious sweets and treats.

Likewise the tartine is ingrained in the French snacking tradition, veritable institution.
